A maternity shoot is about celebrating the miracle of sharing your body with your baby and capturing the beauty of your belly. The best time is between 32 and 36 weeks, although the shoot can be done at any stage you choose.
You can come to the shoot with your partner, with your child or children, or you can bring a girlfriend or your mum – I really don’t mind who you bring, as long as you feel confident and comfortable with them.
We can also discuss the type of shots you’d like. I have plenty of fabrics and ideas to help create the look you want – you can show as little or as much of your bump as you like, and please don’t worry about stretch marks or the odd blemish, as these can always be airbrushed out in the post-production process.
I wish I’d gone to a really good female photographer when I was pregnant. I would cherish those images now.

Booking In
Most people book in after their 12 week scan- this is to ensure you don’t miss out as I book up well in advance. I can, on occasion however squeeze in last minute bookings if you have only just decided that you would like a maternity photography session.
Once your session has been confirmed, I shall send over a questionnaire for you to fill out once you’re ready- this ensures that the session is completely tailored to your individual needs and preferences.
Maternity sessions are best captured at between 32 and 36 weeks- when you have a lovely bump but are not too uncomfortable. Don’t panic if you are nearer the finish line however- I will happily photograph any Mummy-to-be even on her due date if needed!
The non refundable session fee is required upon booking- click here for more information. This includes 3 digital images as part of the package and can only be booked in conjunction with a newborn shoot.
The Session
All photography shoots take place in my home studio which is in Cambridge New Zealand. Tea and coffee are supplied throughout the session but I would advise you to bring a snack in case you get peckish during the shoot.
My sessions are relaxed and led entirely by you. You decide on outfits, colours etc although I may make suggestions. Some ladies prefer bump covered whilst others would like to capture the natural beauty of pregnancy in nude or semi nude styles… whichever route you go down is completely up to you.
After Your Session
After your session, I professionally hand edit your images to the highest standard. You will then be invited back to a viewing session where you will be able to select the three images included in your session fee. If you would like to purchase additional images this is absolutely fine and discounts will be offered for multiple image purchases.
